Dr. Leah Halper is an Associate Director in the Center for the Study of Student Life at The Ohio State University. Leah has a BS in Psychology and an MS and PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. She is passionate about collecting data that will positively impact the student and staff experience. Her focal assessment and research areas include career outcomes, administrative excellence and operational data, student/staff employment and the student residential experience. In the Center for the Study of Student Life, Dr. Halper applies research insights to student-focused projects, contributing to the development of leadership and employment programs that aim to foster student growth, retention, and engagement. Through these efforts, she seeks to bridge the gap between research and practice, driving meaningful change both in student outcomes and broader workplace environments.
Dr. Halper is leading an initiative to socialize interactive dashboard reporting as a main mechanism for reporting in the Student Life division at Ohio State. Dr. Halper also works with the two leads on the Student Life data literacy community and has led or co-led 3-5 specific workshops aiming to teach data literacy to this community, positioning her as an excellent educator for how to create and sustain a division-wide community focused on data literacy.
