Strategy Director, Data and Measurement Lumina Foundation, United States
Session Abstract: In March 2025 Lumina Foundation built upon its historical focus on educational attainment to set a new goal. Specifically, "By 2040, 75 percent of adults in the U.S. labor force will have college degrees or other credentials of value leading to economic prosperity."
The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of the new goal, engage participants to answer methodological questions and to discuss emergent thoughts for the future.
Attendee will be more knowledgeable about the methods used to determine value and rationale. Given that 49 states adopted attainment goals and many are adopting new goals, by having an awareness of the value conversation they will be better positioned to engage institutional leadership in value-focused conversations.
The objectives of this session is to be transparent with the methodological choices that were made and to generate thoughts about future methodological decisions that will be made in the future.
