Statistician Intermediate University of Michigan ADVANCE Program, United States
Session Abstract: Climate assessments are a key resource for higher education institutions as they provide important information about employee experiences as well as intentions to stay in their current position. Staff from the ADVANCE Program’s Research and Evaluation team highlight process improvements for high-quality, high-volume climate assessments conducted for academic and nonacademic units. These process improvements center around three core areas: (1) theoretical approach that reflects a modular approach to survey design; (2) technical improvements, leveraging R to automate, create, and streamlining figures; and (3) report design, including visuals and a high-level executive summary. Attendees will learn about process improvements and consider how these would be helpful to their own work with survey development and data reporting.
