Data Science and CIP Codes

Session Abstract: Data Science is one of the fastest growing majors. In 2020, NCES issued new CIP codes for Data Science and Data Visualization. But prior to the introduction of these new CIP codes, data analytics, along with computer science and statistics have embedded data science skills within their descriptions. This poster presentation will showcase text mining of the 2020 CIP Codes to identify additional codes that have embedded data science and data analytics skills. Additionally, degree completions will be examined to identify where there are strong programs and skills associated with job outcomes.
