Session Abstract: Data glossaries are a critical component within the data governance framework. It is an important reference tool for data stewards and other stakeholders across the campus to speak a common language. Considered as the single source of truth, it provides a detailed understanding of data terms, datasets, and their context. The Data Governance and integrity Committee at Youngstown State University is working to create a data glossary to define key terms and promote the use of standardized language to ensure data quality and reliability. Power BI was utilized to enhance the glossary to make it user-friendly and interactive. In this session, I will outline the process of creating a data glossary, from compiling the initial list to transforming it into a user-friendly, searchable directory.
