Shannon Foster, Ph.D., is the Associate Director of Institutional Research and Assessment at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). She has over twenty years of experience as both a higher education practitioner and researcher. In her role at CMU, Dr. Foster leads the assessment and evaluation of student experiences and outcomes across the university. She has experience working with a sundry of survey data, and her expertise in qualitative methodologies has allowed the university to better understand the lived experiences of students, faculty, and staff. She has overseen assessment efforts in the areas of student experience; mental health; wellbeing; sense of belonging; diversity, equity, and inclusion; sustainability; and policy implementation at CMU's main campus and internationally at CMU's Qatar Campus.
