    Dr. Rob Hopkins is the Assistant Vice Provost for Analytics & AI at Virginia Tech, where he has served since 2020 in the Office of Analytics & Institutional Effectiveness. Prior to VT, Hopkins worked at a small liberal arts college and was a Professor of Biology with a research focus in ecological modeling and biostatistics. Collectively, Hopkins has over 15 years of experience in higher education in the professoriate and administrative dimensions, has published more than 20 research papers, won more than $2 million in grant funding, completed 40+ conference presentations, and designed and delivered numerous workshops. He leads a talented team of data scientists at Virginia Tech, where they develop and support the University DataCommons, a data analytic ecosystem that provides reporting intelligence, decision support, and operational insights across a wide variety of functional areas.
