Session Abstract: In this session, we will share with you essential metrics—and a framework—for assessing the financial and operational health of your institution, setting targets, quantifying the impact of potential actions, prioritizing areas for strategic focus, and developing a focused and data-informed strategy for ensuring the financial health and sustainability of your institution. The presentation will include (1) comparison groups; (2) essential metrics; (3) formulas for quantifying impact; and (4) developing a data-informed strategy. We will also discuss how to establish decision-making processes that align with your institution’s mission and culture. Throughout, we will share experiences and insights from the practical application of this approach at the College of Idaho as part of a strategic decision-making process. We will show you a dashboard tool that automates the data work and send you home with an Excel template that you can use at your home institution.
