Session Abstract: Staff turnover can cripple small IR/IE offices as institutional knowledge leaves with departing staff. This session discusses strategies that IR/IE offices can employ to reduce or eliminate the negative effects of staff departure and help get new staff up to speed in a quick, efficient manner. The session centers around the creation of an IR/IE office process manual. We will discuss data dictionaries, reporting calendars, how to create a good user guide, how to structure code so it is usable by others, and good practices for commenting code.
